48 Hours

48 HOURS IN...<br />This 6-part  television series has grown out of The Independent newspaper’s pioneering city-breaks series which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. In each of the programmes Simon explores a different city (or in some programmes two cities) covering every aspect of a ‘48 hour visit’ experience. The cities featured in this first series are: Rio; Singapore & Leon; Fez & Zaragoza; San Diego; Bergen & Salamanca and London.

Work Relax and Play

WORK, RELAX AND PLAY<br />Following the success of ‘Poise’ The Independent in association with Intel commissioned BDTV to make ‘Work,Relax & Play’. Each show featured two celebrities and illustrated just how computers and technology play a significant part in their home life as well as their working day. The first show features music-producer extraordinaire MARK RONSON & travel writer SIMON CALDER. The second features Radio 1 DJ GILLES PETERSON and TV presenter SARAH BEENY.
Poise

POISE<br /> A direct collaboration with The Independent and Mercedes Benz,  these are a stylish trio of films focussing on six professionals whose roles require them to be in possession of the specific quality of poise. Each individual is filmed at work but in intimate detail. The professions featured were: Face Surgeon & Sushi Chef; Paraglider & Surfer and Architect & Eurostar designer.

Twin Tracks

TWIN TRACKS<br /> A spin-off from the highly-successful ‘48 Hours’ vodcast series. Regular presenter Simon Calder and fellow Independent travel editor Ben Ross begin each show together before taking alternative routes (and modes of transport) to a mutual destination. ‘A Tale of Two Train Travellers’ finds Ben aboard the Transcantabrico following the pilgrim’s journey across northern Spain, while Simon opts for local trains. ‘Flanders City by City’ journeys from Dunkirk to Antwerp. FOOD ETC.<br />A series of short, tasty culinary lessons presented by The Independent’s regular chef columnist, Mark Hix (owner of three restaurants including the Hix Soho in London’s West End). Each intimate lesson is shot in Mark’s own kitchen and features instructionals on everything from asparagus & quails eggs to simple poaching & scrambling; from the perfect hollandaise sauce to tips on basic chopping & slicing.<br />
